DIY Guide for Soapyard Soap Flakes

“Melt. Dissolve. Shake.” — A Practical Guide to Using Grated Soap Flakes

1. Natural Laundry Detergent

Soapyard flakes (even with shea butter) are suitable for natural laundry — especially cotton, linen, or bamboo. Shea helps soften, though for very greasy loads or hard water, pair with washing soda.

Basic Recipe:

  • 1 cup Soapyard flakes

  • ½ cup washing soda (sodium carbonate)

  • Optional: ½ cup baking soda

Use 1–2 tablespoons per load. Pre-dissolve in hot water for low-temperature washes.

5. Dog Wash (Gentle Pet Cleanser)

Most human soaps and shampoos are too harsh for dogs and may irritate skin causing itchiness and dry skin.  Soapyard's mild pH (~8) is acceptable occasionally for dogs but used sparingly and needs be to well diluted. Avoid for cats.

Dog skin pH: 6.5–7.5 (slightly less alkaline than soap - pH (~8)
Mix:

  • 1 tbsp flakes

  • 300 ml warm water

Avoid essential oils unless confirmed safe. Rinse well.
